Yeah right. With no access to the GPU, WoW would never even begin to run if you somehow got it working with Wine. Even with GPU access, the game wouldn't run too well due to other limitations in the hardware. I don't even think Wine runs on PPC CPUs. And you definitely didn't get Crysis to run on PS3 as you stated below.
If you're a gamer and a fan of FPS titles, chances are you knew about those console renditions. Especially the Xbox version of Counter-Strike which just came out in 2003.
It really doesn't matter how advanced its AI and gameplay are. There are quite a few FPS games with better gameplay and AI than Halo, but will they ever touch Halo in sales?
Nope.
The game's rather generic title and its boxart will ensure that it doesn't appeal to anyone who isn't already anticipating its release. If it's truly a great sim, they can overcome that, but I don't think there's too much room left in the genre due to Gran Turismo and Forza.
Not on my copy of FFX. On mine, Tidus looks like this normally: http://www.ffx-europe.com/s... and then in cutscenes he looks like this: http://www.oyohimura.com/si... I also have quite a large collection of anime and about 90% of the characters appear to be completely Caucasian.
Why do Japanese game devs and anime companies hardly ever include characters who actually look Japanese? The closest S-E ever got was in FFX when all the characters would magically become Asian during the CG cutscenes. On one hand, Japan seems to be somewhat xenophobic and on the other, they have an extreme fascination with Westerners.
Yep, Atlus wins. If Atlus would start releasing current gen RPGs, they'd easily stomp all over these other devs. I'm still a huge fanboy of all 4 of these companies though.

Oh yeah don't know how I forgot Doom. I own or have owned all those other titles in your list, but I don't really remember any music from them with the exception of Portal's ending song. But then again I haven't played those titles anywhere near as much as I have 007, Halo, and Doom.
Glad this isn't being overlooked. The only FPS games I can think of with memorable music would be the Halo series and Goldeneye 007.
Yeah without that, he probably would have given it something higher. I would give it a 10, but I'm a Persona fanboy.
Gametheory is correct. It probably wouldn't even take one person a whole day to remap the controls for all of these games. While $30 isn't too bad a price, it's still too high. I just might consider Mario Tennis though since I still play that every once in a while, but none of the others.
Where in the world do they keep getting the money to waste on Tomb Raider games? The chances of Lara making any kind of come-back is slim to none, unless they cover her up and put her in a Wii party game.
There's nothing wrong with aspiring to be the very best bus driver you can be.
I own both the 360 and PS3 versions of the game, and as much as I liked GTA4 (though I seem to be in the minority), the DLC just doesn't seem appealing at all so far. It's not something I'd pay money for.
People always make the mistake of announcing their gaming remakes/projects too early, knowing there's a risk that the real developers will shut their project down. Just like with Starcraft DS and the Chrono Trigger remake. They should wait until the project is about 98% complete and then let the public know about it. That way if they get shut down, the completed game is still floating around the interwebs somewhere.
True, but there aren't too many people out there who are as powerful as my personal Lord and Savior, Sephiroth. Probably just the Power Rangers and Z Fighters since they are virtually invincible.
This guy's boss needs to tell him to quiet down a bit. Greenberg and Shane Kim have gotten pretty complacent rather fast and it doesn't take too much arrogance to start turning even your own consumers against you. Just ask Nintendo what happened two generations ago or ask Sony what happened between 2005-2006 with their PR issues. Just let Hirai do his talking and try to prove him wrong through your actions.
Online, yes. Movies, no. I use the PS3 for all my non-gaming media needs. The 360 is used purely for games.
This isn't natively running on the PS3 though. If you wanted, you could play WoW and Crysis on a PSP or your cell phone, but neither of those devices will be doing any real work. FarEastOrient was describing the process below, as if it was actually running on the PS3.
